SAFETY AND RELIABILITY

Because surprises can come in any form, Lancer EX includes an array of active and passive safety features to protect all occupants from harm. Powerful anti-lock brakes and brake-force distribution enable drivers to avoid hazards in the road, while the RISE body works to absorb collision damage and direct it away from the interior.
To help keep occupants in every seat safe in the event of a collision, Lancer EX is available with a new 7-airbag system to provide increased safety from all sides. Curtain airbags extending along both sides reduce damage to front and 2nd-row occupants in a side collision, while the 1st-row occupants also have front and side airbags. For further safety, a driver’s knee airbag helps reduce damage to the legs in a forward collision.
